Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Rava Appe:
- 1 cup Finely ground semolina or suji
- 1/2 cup Rice flour
- 1/4 cup Grated coconut
- 1 cup Fresh yoghurt
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 cup Jaggery(grated)
- 3 tablespoons Ghee
- 10-12 Cashews sliced
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
- as needed Water
- 2 pinch Salt
Steps to make to make Rava Appe
- First, take a bowl. Add the finely ground suji, rice flour, coconut, curd, Jaggery, cardamom powder and mix well.
- Use wire whisk and mix to a smooth thick batter by adding water in batches. Keep covered for 15 minutes. When jaggery is dissolved, mix well
- Then heat 1 tablespoon ghee and add the cashews. Fry for a minute and add the whole mixture to the batter. Stir well.
- Then heat an appe pan. Pour a small amount of ghee in each mold.
- Then add soda at last in the batter. Whisk well. Then pour spoonfuls of batter in each curved mold. Top with a small cashew piece.
- Cover the appe pan and cook from both sides. Turn when base is done and then cook the bottom side till both sides are golden.
- Remove and repeat this for the rest of the batter. Serve hot with chutney, ketchup, or coconut milk. Enjoy!
